The African and Chinese goose thread!!

Mine are too old for chick starter, besides regular scratch and then grazing is there anything else they like to eat?
If you can't get a feed that is formulated for geese/waterfowl then a mixed flock feed like Flock Raiser is fine. If they graze they will get most of their nutrition that way while there is grass available. Some feed, scratch and/or cracked corn on the side plus treats like Romaine Lettuce and watermelon and they will be happy beyond imagining.

Mine love it, but have always had it as a treat.

Feeling so disappointed and just heart broken. We had a power outage last month, and it drastically affected 2 weeks of my hatches so far

By this time, I am normally buried in goslings, ducklings, chicks and keets..Not a one made it to hatch, just devastated. Hoping my brooding hens hatch soon.
DH is looking into the battery backup units so this doesn't happen again. Lost all my Muscovy eggs too, guinea, turkey and several chicken breed eggs, ugh.
I have a sportsman cabinet full of eggs! I did have 2 turkey poults hatch this Tuesday so am hoping we are past it now.

this is a great forum with a lot of wonderful educated folks.
I am not NPIP so I can't ship birds. I have had very good luck with Meyer hatchery, but the minimum is 8 geese. Have you tried to check the local craigslist ads, or check at the nearest farm store? I have found the best breeder resources are found through local feed supply stores. The employees know who buys quality feed for their flocks. Usually can give you contact info also.
