Congrats!!Candled the eggs in the bator.. They are developing! DD is super excited too. I have a mile long waiting list!
I just thought I would give a little update on her flying, so here it is. She can now fly without a headwind, taking off from level ground and climbing to about 20 feet in the air! Here is the video I finally got uploaded from her first flight.
Quote:
Its just so exceptional, I watched it several times! She may not do it as an adult but its pretty exciting to be a part of.
I hope she can always fly some. If I practice with her everyday won't she maintain the strength? Its just so exceptional, I watched it several times! She may not do it as an adult but its pretty exciting to be a part of.
Quote: As she matures she will get heavier. They still will do the flight thing when released but won't get far off the ground. Birds with natural flight, unquestionably would be canadians. The domestic breeds don't have the keel bones to support flight. I know its a beautiful thing to watch! I adore my young birds when the wings allow them flight but get too heavy to support it. They don't have the bone structure to gain altitude.
Thanks! I don't think she will ever migrate.Don't let me talk you out of it, anything is possible! My Chinese have really amazed me the last few years. She is already very special obviously!
Quote: My geese don't care to climb I have noticed. I use a pond insert for a deep swimming pool for them, and I had to get steps inside it, and out so they can exit and enter. I would think jumping much distance might damage their legs.
