The African and Chinese goose thread!!

Ok,so I have two more goose eggs left.both went into lockdown yesterday well today we have one in the air cell already.Should I be worried.

No you shouldn't worry. Some goslings hatch faster then others.
A early hatch usually means temperatures are too high but it sounds like it's going good anyways ;)

Question is a change in the Basel knob on a chinese goose an indication of a health problem. One of my females the littlest knob seems smaller and a bit wrinkled. Should I be concerned.

When a goose is in it's knob growing stage (6-9 months) they always seem to look wrinkled but that's only for young geese.
Old geese don't really get wrinkled knobs.
If the knob gets smaller then there must be a problem unless she's a mixed breed?

Sloppy Joe and Barbara.
Sloppy Joe is going to be a father this year.
Also I've 6 fertile buff African eggs and 6 BuffxBrown African eggs in the incubator ;)

My goose is laying like a champ. If she lays today like she has every otherday she will have layed for a whole week. Hopefully she decides to go broody.

Ok that's what I'm thinking she's 2 and laying an egg about every day and a half. When I let her and the rest out this morning at 7am it seemed back to normal. Now shrunk and wrinkled again. Wondering about a nutrition issue. Just got an ice storm so access to greens is null and I stopped seeding wheat grass for them when the weather broke and they started to forage. She's active and talkative and won't leave the male alone. So she seems fine I just don't want to miss something.

That's great! Elizabeth layed every other day for a little over 3 weeks, but now she stopped. I hope you can hatch some goslings! Serv, do you think she will start to lay again or is she done for the year?
