I just started raising quail in my backyard. I know this is for chickens but they all poop so I figure you nice folks can help me just the same. ( didn’t get chickens since they need lots of space and didn’t want to end up getting lawn/ garden destroyed.) the quail don’t ever stop pooping and I was wondering how you guys handle the waste? The poop is drawing in flies by the hundreds and I heard that black fly larvae will keep other pests away and they make super composers. Is there any other way to bury/ cover the smell of the waste was thinking to bury it in dirt by tilling the soil and working it in the ground 29478222-DA3D-40A7-8E3C-FAD81AFB5A56.jpeg every week to keep the smell down any ideas what to do with it?

Hey! I don’t raise quail, but my chicken’s poop is horrible smelling! I change their bedding every week, and it helps keep the smell down. Do you have a cliff, hill, or something that you could throw the poop over? That’s what I do :) If you don’t, then I think “tilling the soil” idea is great!!
Hope that helps!

Been dumping in compost seems to help. Was thinking of dumping shredded paper or sawdust under to absorb the poop then put in compost

found oit flies dont like pines so I’m going to get some pinesol and spray under cage to keep flies away. Suposed to keep them away when you are eating outside.
