We have a pit bull that was dumped on us that guards all the poultry. She loves those dang birds. lets them roost on her, eat her food, etc. We keep her by the chicken pen at night to ward off wildlife. I have seen her climb a tree 8 feet to get a chicken-killin'-minded coon!!!! Too bad she does not fight dogs...she IS a pit bull after all!!! Neighbor dogs came over the other day and slaughtered about a dozen of our young birds. Baby was sitting there with the most guilty look you ever saw. Oh well, what baby can't do, lead poisoning can!!!!

Went out there tonight and the baby RiR roo's were all huddled up in the dog house behind him staying warm Wish I had the camera it was a moment to die for.
