Hope all is well with you and Duckling. She must be growing up.

I hold dogs in my lap to groom them sometimes. Great for doing feet and nails. If you go against the lay of the fur the hair gets cut shorter. So you could try that on the legs.Wahl. I start with whatever I’m using on his back (depends on the season). When I’m really trying, I use the 1/4” on his legs and feet. He’s not an easy dog to groom. Until last month, he’s never been cooperative when even brushing him. I have a multitude of brushes for him. From the ones I use on his long hair to the gentle ones for his summer cut. He was never wild when I groomed him (believe it or not, he’s always let me clip his nails), but he shook like a leaf for a long time.
Back to the cutting. I use scissors on the sly. I hide them by the couch, and seize my chance to clip between his toes and the top of his feet. Of course I get any tangles I find too. But it’s quick. He won’t stand for anything. Duckling might now be old enough to hold his hips. I’ve tried a leash above his head. He’s not a good candidate for that tactic.
