Imagine how i feel! Lost all but three of my Sussex to Mareks. Started with 12 chicks mid August.

I remember you saying you were having a problem with Marek's. I didn't know you lost nearly all of them. That must be so upsetting. How are the three left doing?
I've had pets most of my life dogs, cats, goats the odd horse! And of course chickens but I've never had an animal get under my skin and into my heart as much as these hens I have now. I must be getting soft in my old age!
Anyway, I heard you've had some good news.

The last 3 are good right now, but they are all hens so no chicks from them. I put my spare Polish roo in to protect them.
And i lost a Polish roo to Mereks, luckily i had 3 but he was the best one. Then the other day we had to cull a Polish pullet because she couldn't walk any more. So i went from 12 polish to 10. So i have 13 chickens left. Once they all die i won't be getting more unless i build a remote coop.
Yes, i know what you mean about them getting under your skin. I have had to resist getting attached or picking special ones. I DISLIKE getting hardened like that.
Thanks, yes , good news on my biopsy. Mother Nature was listening to me i guess.

Well, that's a start!
I am building an incubator. Coming along pretty well. Might even be done tomorrow! Excited to try it out!
