The All Night Diners

I developed an allergy to chocolate in my teens. The first thing that made me sick was Jr. Mints. So just the thought of mint chocolate instantly makes my stomach hurt!
The allergy didn’t last, and about ten years later I was able to eat chocolate again. Though I do seem to still have an intolerance to it (an intolerance is when you simply have to go to the bathroom. No hives or anything) if I eat more than a few ounces in a week. So I don’t usually have chocolate around, and don’t choose it all the time.
As a small child, I didn’t even like chocolate. Funny, huh?
Not even brownies!

Goodness, you have been unlucky in life!

I will also agree that salted caramel is a very good flavour for ice cream. I've always had a strong attraction to rum and raisin but the ultimate ice cream is Cadbury's Cream Egg ice cream in my opinion..... no good for your chocolate allergy though!

 I really don’t focus on it as much as I seem to make you guys think.
Would you like to hear about the celebrities that I have met because we were doing something together? I can spend hours making you laugh about my adventures. It’s really been quite a ride.

I think it is more that, as a chocoholic, it is hard to envisage life without chocolate..... copious quantities of it..... so an allergy to it just seems like the worst possible affliction..... I developed an allergy to wine about 20 years ago and that doesn't bother me much, but to some people it might be unbearable..... we are all different.... it is what makes the world such a wonderful place....

Anyway, let's have your celebrity stories..... You will have to forgive me if I haven't heard of some of them as I gave up TV about 20 years ago too, so I might be a bit out of date unless they are really old celebrities or very, very famous...

Old celebrities.
Vanessa Williams was the MC during one of the fashion shows. My best friend and I were in the paper with her because back then people were still learning that race didn’t matter.
Tempest Bledsoe from the Cosby show. What a jerk!!! She arrived to the show demanding that people keep “these annoying people away from me!!” Later she was furious because no one ate with her, or spoke to her.
Aretha Franklin was doing a concert as a Salvation Army fundraiser. It rained, and no one really showed up. She not only refused to be paid, but gave a big donation.
LeBron James played basketball at the Akron Salvation Army. While we were doing our weekday programs upstairs, he was downstairs playing with the kids as a publicity stunt. I have no kind words about him. I see him as a troublemaker.
Johnny Cash was staying at the same hotel during a trip in NJ. He answered his door in his pajamas.

Wow! How were you involved in the fashion show?

Does that mean there may have been two "jerks" on the Cosby Show.... really sad when your childhood heroes turn out to be (likely) sex offenders.... not sure if there has been a conviction yet with Bill Cosby but was gutted when Rolf Harris was accused and convicted.... you probably wont know him in the USA... he was an Australian children's entertainer and artist here in the UK when I was a child!

Good to hear that Aretha can be remembered for her kind heart and whilst she portrayed herself as a Diva, was not one of these modern selfish ones.

I once met Princess Anne and she is much more beautiful in real life than she appears on TV which is unusual because with most people it is the other way around.
