That sound's great!!! I have another question, I noticed that after the chicks went out side, that they started sneezing, not much though. Is is because there are more allergies outside? Also, my rooster's comb randomly goes purple, then regains color. The adult birds also sneeze some, and the rooster has some crud in his eyes the odd time, but that's it. Can you post a pic of the eggs? are these from your hens?

Not really sure about the sneezing and color changing comb. Maybe your birds have a cold. Sometimes the transition between seasons can tamper with animals immune systems. I have heard people talk about cockerels combs changing color. I just don't know why it happens.

I posted a picture of the eggs in the incubator a few pages back. Unfortunately, the flash on my camera really bleached out the color of the eggs and most look closer to white than blue. In real life they are very pretty. I purchased these eggs from a local ABC breeder. They are blue/black/splash. Most of the chicks that hatch are going to be black and splash with a few unknowns thrown in for fun. Her blacks are really nice and I was hoping to cross the blacks over splash to get a nice blue. So fingers crossed I get a couple splash chicks. I think most of the eggs that are for sure developing are blacks.

But there is a distinct difference between the two BPR's. One is much taller, thicker legs, and thinner.
A lot of people say that the roosters mature and feather out slower than pullets do. I haven't found this to be a good rule of thumb if they are a dual purpose breed. I have a hard time distinguishing the sex of birds until the wattles start coming in. Roosters come in faster and bright red. Combine that with a pink/red comb and you most likely have a rooster. This is why EE's and Ameraucanas can be so difficult to sex, with pea combs and little to no wattles you might have to wait until is lays or crows :).

Thank you. I shouldn't have to treat though should I ? I hope you have a good hatch!
I wouldn't. You could always put some vitamin/mineral powder in their water to help boost their immune systems. What brand of feed do you use? Thanks! I have my fingers crossed with this one. I have done a few things different this time and hope it improves my hatch rate :).

Hmmmmm, I have a 3 week old ameraucana that has three rows. And thanks for the advice =) I'm using a local brand of feed. Thanks for answering all my questions! I've had chickens for quite a while, but I'm realizing that I still have lots to learn, as well as new breeds to have! I love black and splash ameraucanas. I'm hoping one of mine is a splash, but at the moment all the feathers are coming in with a silvery color, I'm not sure what it will be! Were these eggs shipped? Or did you drive to get them? I've heard a lot of bad things about getting shipped eggs.
