Thank you! This is one of my favorite colorations. Your boy‘ll probably mature into a beautiful specimen himself. That crazy teenager-baby stage is certainly something to marvel at lol.

I love how close to the skull it is. I can’t take credit for breeding it, I just feel lucky to have hatched him out. I got eggs from Rebecca G Howie, and she’s been stellar help so far, plus her birds are awesome. I’m stoked at how this male is turning out in particular because he is literally my ONLY boy lol. Hopefully I can keep improving on the line.

Thank you! Best of all is that he’s still a baby lol. I’m hoping the tail grows in more 🤞. His transition from back to tail has smoothed out over the last two weeks and his beard has gotten fluffier, so hopefully he keeps at the growth. His coloring is pretty beautiful in person. I love the darker red shoulders he has, while still keeping the light golden hackles. I also love the blue. I think I just like everything about him.
Oh nice! That’s a good source! I have 4 roosters from my hatch but only one with minimal to no leakage 🤪 So frustrating! I’m getting eggs in the Spring from Once in a Blue Moon so hoping to get some good no leakage options!

My one handsome black boy, Angus, with tiny bits of leakage in his saddle feather edges 😍

Really is. I tried to find good sources before I got the eggs, and I’m happy with what I’ve ended up with. Luckily, not too many issues with quality of stock- only problem I’ve run into is hatching and keeping males alive lol. The one cockerel I’ve ended up with is pretty nice(as are the pullets), so from here on out I just intend to hatch and raise from my own flock. Hopefully you get birds without leakage from once in a blue moon, having Good quality options to start with really boosts a breeding program.

Well bummer! 😆 It’s so hard finding people in CA breeding Ameraucanas and showing! I can’t be the only one, my place is too small 😆

I put my first eggs from my own birds in the incubator a couple days ago to test fertility! Some of my blacks look promising 😍

This last show we took 4 for the show and they were again the only 4 😩 My blue girl Jessamy got BB, I was surprised 😍

Congratulations on BB with her!

I get that feeling of birds being hard to find. Ameraucanas are pretty rare in Florida as well, in both largefowl and bantam. I saw... 9 bantam ameraucanas at the last show I attended(I brought 6 of those), and 3 largefowl. Finding breeders of any variety has been a pain.
