The American Cemani Breeders Club...open forum

As the devil's advocate, I'd make the suggestion to anyone with a complaint to read the BYC to

SO many parts of being human, doing business, and living... What is logical, what is ethical/moral, and so on.

I'm sorry, but I have to say: taking advantage of people in ANY WAY is wrong.

I also have screen shots of this seller's ORIGINAL Ebay postings, which are FAR different from what they have CHANGED them to be here, on BYC. PM me if you'd like a copy.

Message exchanges, false advertising, etc. I understand your point. BUT THAT IS TO PROTECT GOOD BREEDERS....not crap like this.

In his original ad he actually said he had Toni Marie, Greenfire Farm and Smithsonian Lines, several people commented on the smithsonian lines and that we were getting them for free. So smithsonian lines was taking off his ad...then a couple days when by and it only said Greenfire Farm lines. He also no paperwork of any kind to show where the birds came from. The story i got was from a friend who got them from Greenfire and didnt give him any paperwork and he cant go get paperwork from the friend of any sort. So yeah his orginial ad was probly closer to the ebay ones he used to run. Now he only sells under toplongtailfowls on ebay as far as i can tell cause his other name has no ads there at all.

Anyhow i'm sure the mods will take care of them trying to harass me.

I saw someone commeted on a FB group i'm in. Said GFF, is going through some changes. But that person didn't elaborate more....................................... so, that can be one many reasons reflecting price drop of many breeds?

I think they are changing their business model because before you could by day olds, juvies or adult breeding pairs....now all breeds just say day olds. So maybe they are going more towards the tradional hatchery business model but with pricey birds.

I know they sold a lot of the cemani birds and the honas recently....and gave great prices to the people that got them...however the people that did get the birds are from the Midwest and they bought a lot of birds....(over fifty birds....so yeah do the math on that one....wowzer)

mhmm you were telling me about that, so i exspected AC and Hona to be lower in price but i didnt exspect the day olds only for all breeds greenfire has.

They used to have the big statement on there about only selling juvie pairs because they wanted ot make sure they were good quality, i guess now they dont care?

No matter how good you think you lots and pens are built and protected, it seems like if a predator wants in, they will find a way. I had something hit two of my pens and killed around 30 of my birds and ducks. And the sad part of it most were just killed and left. It was able to get through an electric fence and somehow past my dogs. First time this has happen in about 8 years. With all of this said, I know I have a list of people wanting and expecting to get birds from me next month and in March. But right now I will not be filling any orders until I figure out exactly how many of my Cemani's I have lost and will need to replace with what chicks that I have. I'm sorry that I have to do this, and if you want, I can give you some names of some breeders that may have some for sale.

Oh no :( So sorry about this, that's terrible. How were they killed? It sounds like it could have been a weasel, they will kill for fun and just drink the blood and leave everything else. They can also fit through just about everything except hardware cloth.
