Apart from T-M who are they? I would really really like to know!!

Like I said, until serious breeders are selling their improved stock (improvement takes time/years and more than one or 2 crosses between 2 lines), and those breeders become well known as reliable it is difficult to know for certain what you may be buying. I hear complains about how people are buying birds from "reputable breeders" for good money and they are not worth keeping/breeding. Most people on this thread are relatively new to cemanis and are still improving their stock before they are good enough to sell - or at least that is what they SAY they intend to do. I am not sure how long you have been breeding them. At least with Greenfire AT THIS TIME you know what you are getting. They are not perfect but not horrible either.
Also GFF are VERY careful to be sure the customer is happy with what they have bought. So far I have not heard a single complaint about a GFF cemani.
I would be more concerned about crossing the lines until each line has been breed to remove defects. I am not crossing any of my lines at this time because I don't want to have to deal with a whole new set of recessive traits popping up.

Of course I am also only willing to sell my improved stock only to other experienced breeders at this time as I am more concerned with an inexperienced breeder claiming my name and selling culls to make a quick buck. In fact, I may not even sell any Cemani this year and will probably just focus on Svart Hona.

UPDATE!
My 6 birds are now adolescents.
Surly flighty ones too.

I am happy to report that they are getting much darker as they get older even their beaks and feet are getting darker too.

Here are some quick photos I took with my cell phone. They are a bit grainy because I had to use zoom to keep them from running around.

Rob - these came from purchased eggs. They are cemani mix (high percentage) from the pre GFF cemani era.
I gave them to a friend who needed them for a *special* project. They are mature now and the 2 naked necks are both cockerels, and the chick on the left a pullet.
I am not a naked neck fan, but it does show off the nice dark skin. Will see if I can get pictures of them now.

Thanks Phage I would like to see how these roos hold their FM as adults as I have been working on some FM NN's.
BTW what part of SD are you in I grew up in El Cajon but now in FL.

Looks like you will have your choice of cockerels. Think I can see 4 of them and one hen in one picture.

Now they are cool looking I have to say, I am not into the bare neck thing or cross breeding in any way and for sure do not support it , I have to say they are very interesting looking and have very nice plumage color. Hats off to you for the first bare necked crossed cemanis they are cool looking, Funky.

I can't take credit for making them. They are cool though. The project they are being used for is not strictly an AC project, but it does use their "blackening" genes in the breeding.

Please post pics of your FM NNs !!!
We are in Del Mar/Solana Beach area. Love SD!

Steadfast I would recommend you get better fence if you have coyotes or fox or raccoons the can bite right threw that chicken fence. Thats my opinion or you might come out to a hole and no birds one morning. I seen the snake that is crazy, nice axe lol.

Ok, the cockerel right in front of the pullet, the cockerel in the middle of the other two cockerels looks like the best of the four from what I can tell from the picture. I would keep those two until you can add a different bloodline in from a better line. But I would only breed the best of the two to your pullets, and cull really hard on them. I don't have this line, but the one line out of the two that I do have, I have culled over 3/4 of mine so far.
