The American Paint Silkie

I wonder if she is starting to get a 'heavy' bonnet type crest? I don't really know and hope someone else more experienced can join in... looks heavy on both sides..not really round halo look?...how old is she again? They do change so much with age...you need a nice black boy for her...she would have nice babies...

I have been noticing at the shows lately that the winning silkies are quite big? very fluffy and they look heavy but like I said...I am a novice!....

I may be hatching some out this spring i use a black roo and paint hen i dont know if one is better than the other id just use whichever ones that are the best quality

I have used both but got my best results so far from my paint roo over black hens...but have some great chicks growing (4 weeks old) from my splash roo over paint hens...just depends what you have...my paint roo was better quality than my black roo and nicer too so I sold the black....

I am looking for some paint silkie chicks does anybody have any that they can ship to Texas?

The president of the American Silkie Club Brenda Gambill has paint silkies. She has been working on them for several years if I am not mistaken. She's in Paradise, Texas - not really that far from Dallas.

She has a large crest that's for sure. I got a couple more comments on the Silkie Breeding, genetics, and showing thread.

I hope not too big. I like the fact that they are "bantams". Shoot I would like them to be "A" Serama sized if I had my druthers

thanks guys for the info, I really appreciate it! I will be giving her a call!
