The American Paint Silkie

Is it best not to use chicks that are genetic mysteries like that red splash from paints because of the possibility of it throwing unsuspected coloring in ur chicks

so I have a question for those that have been breeding paint silkies. if you breed paint to paint, do you get any solids? what does that breeding do to the color, i've heard not to breed paint to paint. but why??
I'm doing a talk on paint silkies tomorrow and I know this question will come up. what's your experience?

I have heard that breeding paint to paint will result in the white turning into kacki so evenyually you will get a solid kacki look with splotches ive never seen one although it may sound very unique and appealing

this first picture is a paint to paint, he's lighter overall in the spotting can color is not as clean.
the 2nd bird is paint to splash, very khaki look to her.

I show mine as AOV but they can't get any better then best of color. any new colors are popular, just some more then others.

There were many paints being shown yesterday at the eastern nationals in Newnan and most of the splash and paints looked better in type than the standard colors in my opinion...all the paints and splash were just amazing...oh and there was even a black mottled pullet being shown....she was beautiful...like a reversed paint...

Of course I forgot to take a pic of her...

there is a picture of her posted on facebook. she was pretty,.
