So what color is best to breed to paint?

Paint roo over black hens...or... Black roo over paint hens....

I have a doz eggs cooking right now

I have paint to black in lock down right now. Getting very excited, just staring at the eggs

ideally paint to black or white.
I prefer black myself as some of the chicks hatch pure white and then get spots later. if I breed to white, I don't know if they will be white or paint.

So what color is best to breed to paint?

If u breed white to paint the white will turn into off white

so excited!!!!!!!!!!! my only paint hen with a hurt neck started laying eggs again i thought she never would now time for breeding season!!!!!!!! got my bbs group in the bator too!!!!!!

I've not found that to be true of my white to paint hatches.
paint to splash yes, but not paint to white.

Really??? a few pages back there is a pic of paint to paint but it may have been several generations though... but black is used to improve paint would u use white to hold the same amount of spots??

white in some silkies is dominate white so it hides what's underneath it. I've found alot of mine have black under that white. also found partridge
