I'm with you sager...I'd think Cedars red Paint is a beauty, and I'd love to hear what they say about mine, I'm looking forward to seeing your pictures of your Silkie.

I've been lurking for a while now.

Here are a few of my paints. They are only 2 months old. They all came from a couple paint roos over solid black hens.

This is my loudest paint (not sure if it's a pullet or a roo)

This one is my red paint (Thinking it's a pullet) she is next to a solid black hen wich also hatched from the paint roos over black hens. probably hold onto the blacks and see if they can benefit my paints breeding program since they are out of paint.

And last is another Red Paint I beleive to be a Roo

I've been hearing a little bit of crowing starting to come out of the pen, just can't seem to figure out who is doing it. When I watch they quit.

They were out of paint to black. No buff, that I know of anyway. We will see what they do when they get older. What color will stay, What color will fade etc.... and what they will produce in offspring. I was just looking to get my hands on some paints and these two were just a bonus project in my opinion.

I think I read on a previous post that this color was popping out of the paints on occasion and someone described them as like an orange frost. Kinda intresting to see whats popping up out of these paints.

I Do have Buffs also. So I have a couple pics where there was a buff silkie in the background for contrast.

It's weird almost like a white base with red tipping on top except at the wings you can see solid feathers and white feathers seperate.
Curiouse if any of you breeding paints have had any pop out like this and if you have pics of them as adults?

Kinda reminds me of the color on this Rooster except in red.

I am in New Zealand and really want a Paint Silkie but dont want it to take years, anyone have a quick way? I have access to a buff roo, a buff hen who is sitting, white roo and white hens, also to some blue and blacks from a lady dwon the road, she would be keen too!

Any one who can help?

Probably the quickest way would be to just get your hands on some paints. Not sure if anyone in New zeland has them, but to simply make the color would probably take a long time.

I'd sure like an opinion on these strange colors, are these "Champagne" colored birds considered undesirable? How about the Red blotchy ones like I have? They are pretty but I'm not sure they should be called Paints. I'd like to know.

Three Cedars' Red Paint is a beautiful bird and no doubt a Paint, mine don't look that way, so are ones like mine just a weird crop out and not to be spoken of as Paint?
