The American Paint Silkie

I was thinking she looked blue as well...pretty though...

I had a really nice blue girl in with my paint roo hoping to get some blue paints...but I just got blues...someone in my pen gave me great looking paints...now just to work out who out of the four hens....

Alright I read about the first 70 pages to learn as much as possible.
Now that everyone has been breeding paints for awhile what are you guys having ur best results with white, black or paint.
Also the whites and blacks that come out of paint can they produce paint babies
Also if u get two blacks from a paint x black breeding and breed the two togarther can u get pure black?

welcome zack
I have had the best luck with paint to black. if it hatches white, i know it's not white vs if I breed paint to white, it can be along time before I see spots if they will develop. some of my paints have just tiny spots, enough that you might miss it and then I have some really boldy spotted birds. i have been keeping back all the boldly spotted birds, using those, culling the rest. breeding paint to paint seems to dilute the color (it's not as clean looking).

thank you i just got a pair of paints couple weeks ago and im joing the club to help breed the paints there seesm to be some mix and match of what everyone thinks is the best but paint to black i have heard the most someone else said breed paint to black with silver leakage what do you think?
so ur saying breeding paint to paint gives the paints that brown colour? or dose the white just look more like silver?

i see what u mean the one in the first pic has some brown and very light spots and deffinatley isnt as white as the second pic
so what breedingd did they both come from im assuming the first came from paint to white and the second one came from paint to black?

first one is paint to paint, 2nd is paint to black (the first bird is one I bought, not one I bred, the others, are my breeding.
