The Animals of our local Shelter

Blitzen is a 6 month lab mix, very sweet, and seems well mannered too.

Fraley is so shy but so sweet. He crawled up to me, afraid but wanting love. I gave him some pets but he didn't want to go back into his crate at first until I encouraged him. Thankfully he is warming up. Such a good boy.

Rudy is so sweet and crazy. He loves to run around and play.

Love all three of them! Are you guys thinking Fraley is a Blue Tick Connhound? He looks like one, but beautiful regardless of breed!

Rudys mix of colors is so pretty!

Yep, Bluetick mix (he's too small for a purebred, but has some big paws). Bluetick strays are pretty common in Ohio, we've had them come through our shelter before and a lot of the other shelters around here have had lots come in and go unclaimed this last year.

Ah. :) We get a lot of Treeing Walkers and Beagles going through our shelters. Though there was a Bluetick a few weeks ago.

Bucina came in with her brother, Bugle, and they are up for adoption as a bonded pair!

This is sweet, shy little Bugle. Both are around 2-years-old.

Look at his sweet eyes!

Cagney is heart-worm positive, but people can still come and see her. She just has to finish treatment first. : )

Chanel, a sweet lab mix female.

Fraley in the sunlight

Jojo getting a chance to run outside

Lennox (who was returned because of his energy and desire to be outside) making a funny face. Such a sweetie.

Prancer the Malamute mix is full of energy but so sweet

Spot the pointer Mix enjoying a walk!

Tiny the terrier mix is shy at first, but is a sweetie.

All the dogs are so adorable! Especially those first two. Are you thinking beagle mixes? And the third one looks like some sort of hound too. Hope she can get rid of her heartworm and gain some weight! Poor girl is gorgeous though. You sure get a lot of hounds. And awww poor Lennox. Might be best though - perhaps they may have made him sit inside a lot. Even the nicest people aren't necessarily right for all dogs. I hope him and Prancer can find homes who understand them. They are both gorgeous too. I think that's probably an issue too - people are drawn to the gorgeous, "exotic", "wolfy" Northern breeds and some do research, a lot don't. ANYWAY. Seems like they'd both be better in a more active home? I don't know if you get a lot of snow but maybe they could find someone willing to try skijoring with them or bikejoring or hiking or something if there's no snow. I bet they would enjoy that. All those dogs are sooo cute though

Yeah, we do get a lot of hound mixes, and this winter we got a lot of husky mixes (we generally get Chihuahua, Pittie and Lab mixes). The first two are beagle siblings and Cagney we are thinking is a Treeing Walker Coonhound Mix.

I'm sure we can find a great home for the higher-energy dogs. We've had plenty of those in the past and they tend to calm down a lot once they realize they are loved and have a forever home with a consistent schedule.

Love the Beagley-Weagleys! The second one looks a lot like my Beagle, Olive!

They are so cute and sweet! In the past we had trouble adopting out beagles (we are out near farm-land and hounds were hard to rehome), but now I think people are realizing how cute they are!
