Goose was alone at camp. Some of the wolves were missing(swimming). Others were just not the same place she was. She had just been standing there, alone, as conversations happened she didn’t quite listen to. The wolves left. And suddenly she was alone. Where is everybody? Guilt wormed in her belly. Or maybe those were actual worms. Goose didn’t think she had worms, but it was always possible, who knew what diseases those deer had? Did they go hunting without me? I would feel so bad if they did all that work without me.
She walked timidly towards the prey pile. It was piled with food.
No. They didn’t go hunting without me, though they didn’t start eating either.
So where are they? I’m so fortunate we aren’t nomadic like some wolf packs. I would somehow get separated and die a horrible death alone.
