"Uhtred," he grumbled through a mouthful of rabbit meat that he was figuring out how to eat.

Jock smiled, and laughed a little at Owl's grin. Then he said almost depressionly, "She's, uh, slightly from another pack." He paused, chuckled and continued. "And I can't walk out on Hunter and his great pack after all he's done for me." He started walking again and said quietly as he walked, "She's too young for me anyway. Too much of an old fella."
