*Tallulah smiled at the two for a moment.*

Tallulah: how does a tracking lesson sound? *she was more asking hato that.*
“Do we get to do some hunting too?” Brynn asked, full of excitement. That’s what she really wanted to learn, that and self defense.
Hato smiled. "Yes," he replied, "tracking is part of hunting. You must 'track' your prey first."

Shira raised an eyebrow, this was a weird creature.
Macaw didn't see what he was looking for, so he turned his attention back to Shira. "So what brings you out here alone? Natural disaster or rebellion or other?" He asked.

Tallulah: alright, first things first is actually finding a prey scent, or other signs of prey. Deer leave pretty good footprints on soft ground.

“ I’m a cadaver dog, I was on a mission with my partner, there….. there was an accident.” She said, swallowing hard. “ we got lost and well, here I am.”
Shira could tell what the curious coyote would ask next, so she answered for him as he began to open his mouth. “ he’s…he’s dead.” She said solemnly.

"You're doing ok, Laufen." Hilina tried comforting her pup. She looked at Alexander with a look that asked if there was a better way.
The grimace stayed on Laufen’s face, but his fluffy tail wagging expressed that he was pleased with his mother’s words.
Alexander didn't notice Hilina, but kept to his work. Once he figured Laufen's wound was clean enough, he stopped pouring the water. He sat the bowl aside, and grabbed a long, clean, purple cloth that he had gotten from the two legged's cabin. He also grabbed a couple of sticks that he had brought too.
The little pup’s eyes widened. “What’s that?” He said, curious at the bright color of the cloth.

Winter shivered when the cold breeze managed to penetrate his thick coat again. If he were back home, he would’ve been indoors. But now, it was just cold.
His black K9 vest did little to stave off the wind, though it was covered in dirt. It read ‘Winter’ in white, well what WAS white, lettering on one side, and ‘K9’ on the other side, along with a police patch.
He probably would’ve been able to take it off, but he didn’t want to. It was the only thing that reminded him of his owner and his partner, Shira.
He wished they'd stayed together.

Winter sniffed through the thick leaf carpet on the ground. It was musty and slightly damp. He could smell that there had been a rabbit here, but the scent was stale now.
The German Shepherd huffed, his ribs showing through his dirty, tangled coat. Prey was getting scarce, and hunting was bad enough as it was with his skills.
Winter trotted through the forest, sniffing around the trees. Other than the whistling of wind in the skeletal tree branches, the forest was quiet.
Winter shook his coat roughly for a moment, before picking up a scent- no..
He sniffed a little bit further..
Two scents! One was a squirrel, the other was a coyote (
Macaw :)), Winter recognized the scent. He’d smelled it during his hunting trips, but never tried chasing one.
Winter paused, his head erect and ears perked. Did he want to follow the coyote, or squirrel?
Squirrel, he decided.
He was too hungry.

Brynn was excited. Her tail wagged madly.

Hato was happy that Tallulah was here. He put his head down and started sniffing. "Seeing tracks is easy," he added to what Tallulah said, "but on smaller prey like rabbits, you'll need to sniff them out."

Macaw tilted his head. "Candaver?" He asked because he had never heard of the word. He stepped back and looked down at what Shira said lastly. "Oh. Sorry to hear that," Macaw said quietly, "I know what that's like. Losing your pack."
