The leaves are astringent and a tea from them can be used for a mouthwash (good for mouth sores and ulcers) and used as a gargle for sore throats. The leaves are high in minerals especially iron and manganese, think anemia.
It good for the female reproductive system, pregnancy and PMS. Can also help with diarrhea. The leaves help burned skin to heal more quickly.
