The "Ask Anything" to Nicalandia Thread

Good morning Nicalandia! I have a 8 week old Whiting True Blue and I was hoping you could help me identify the pattern that she has.

Thank you in advance!

I *think* I know what I'm dealing with here, but just checking.

Blue Australorp rooster, unknown mother but has to be either Blue Australorp or my OE, who is buff and blue.

I've got a splash cockerel with significant red leakage. I first thought he'd been in a fight but couldn't find a wound on him or any of the others and realized that it was leakage.

This would mean that his mother was the OE, right? But since he has a straight comb it's unlikely that he carries the blue gene, right?

This is the thread to ask anything related to genetics to me. I have Asperger's syndrome. I have poor social skills and can't understand sarcasm so science/numbers/genetics have come very easy to understand.

Ask away.
I’m looking into crossing a Bielefelder (black patterned red duckwing barred) over a Delaware (black patterned silver Columbian barred). Does any have any pics of a red duckwing over a columbian to give me an idea of why they’d look like? Any info is appreciated on this, or similar, cross.

Its going to be a gold/Silver sex link cross, females will be gold Columbian with barring B/- the males will be Silver/gold B/B.

The chick down pattern will likely look wildtype or mostly wildtype, chances are that there will not be a headspot due to Wheaten beign present.

These are e+/eWh B/b+ males, not sexable at hatch(Rhodebar/RIR cross)
