What causes the short, & Squattiness of Malays occasionally? Is it a genetic fluke, or a form of Dwarfism?

Also, I can't find what other birds were used in the making of Cornish Games, all I can find is Malay, & Asil.

Same story, two sources, and I know I've read it elsewhere as well.

Very brief form: someone in England tried to improve their local gamefowl by crossing in the oriental ones. They were hoping for a better fighting bird, but that's not what they ended up with (not good for fighting).

Only Old English Game I have is the Bantam variety.

There's a breeder of Asils(Aseels) I found a few months back that was selling, but stopped selling for now, planning to get some from them next spring.

I want to attempt to recreate the Cornish Game, if I can't buy some. A back up plan.

It's not about weight, but about conformation. Broad and meaty breasts on 5 pound birds are preferable than a 7 pound bird with sharp breast bone
I just included weight. His breasts were good, & full. Breast bone was only slightly visible.

Score of 3.
