This is not something I have read about or personally experienced, so the most I can do is the guesses I've already made.

What should I expect from a "lemon blue" (Isabel) Hedemora rooster (he's a little fibro with black shin and mulberry comb/wattles) and a 55 flowery hen?

How old was she? My girl is still fairly young. The tops of of her feathers(Above the fluff) are either blue, or black, or solid white. Not just the fluff.

All the black birds I've had had black fluff, & molted normally, & never changed. The only black bird I had that got any white on her was a 6yr old black Australorp, & it was 2 feathers on her thigh.

Well, I don’t know her age when I noticed the color of her fluff, but I’m pretty sure she had the random white feathers for a while. She was about 6 years old when she died.

I don’t think the random white is caused by something related to barring, since chickens like australorps can get it. I think it’s probably related to extended black.

I don't think it's related to Extended Black, one reason I'm gonna experiment next year, to see what happens.(The Black hen is 2yrs old)

My suspicions say it's related to the barring. It's more of a pattern, not really random.

White in Australorp plumage is usually either a flaw, or old age.
