I wouldn't call that laying schedule more than fair at best. Especially if the eggs aren't grade Large or Extra Large.
We mustn't let our love of a particular breed cause us to make excessive claims.
For example, I think that my Australorps lay well -- 6 days out of 7 in their first year unless they go broody. But they don't compare to a production-breed bird like my California White -- who laid 28 days out of 30 in her first year and 6 days out of 7 in her second year.
Best to promote them for their top strengths.
I admit that I don't know what Malays' top strengths are -- since I have little interest in the entire class of game chickens. But I'm sure they have unique features that may well deserve more promotion so that people can better understand them.
