This is what I asked. About the transition.
I thought that was the most noticeable thing about columbian colored chickens, at least to my eye. Don't you think that hen shows a lot of neck transition?

I must admit that I did not pay much attention to the transition you are referring to. I am not aware of any connection between the neck transition and the columbian mutation.

Swedish flower hens are a different breed than 55 flowery hens (55 flowerys are a variety of leghorn)

My apologies, I'm still new at this. Thanks for the clarification, I'll have to look into those further. They both have a gorgeous color pattern.

Have you considered Swedish Flower Hen (55 Flowery Hen) or Jubilee Orpington? Similar coloration as the D'Uccle but in a larger size. I love the D'Uccles too, but my 10 lb RIR-mix/production red rooster is almost too big for my 4 lb prairie bluebells (seems like it to me), so D'Uccles are out for now for me unless I split the flock. Swedish Flower hens are also really good about evading predators and foraging.

Thanks for the tip! I’ve been thinking about the SF but wasn’t aware of the JOs (10-lb roos!) I’ll keep them in mind.

Is there a difference in Millie fluer and oegb spangled genes that create the pattern of white and black tips?

And if porcelain is what we call lavender over Millie fluer, does lavender over oegb spangled have a name?

Someone said lavender over oegb spangled would produce black chicks period even in future generations, but my understanding is it should create split to lavender and split to spangled chicks which would create a percentage of lavender and or spangled chicks in the following generation if bred back to parents or siblings. Would breeding them eventually lead to birds expressing both lavender and spangled?

Spangled(Just a term used when talking about mottled Gamefowl, Spangling is created differently.)is just a darker Mille Fleur just like Jubilee Orpingtons.

Lavender is Recessive, so it needs two copies to show. So, lavender over another color such as solid red, would just make blacks with red leakage, but will carry one copy of the lavender gene.

Will probably be faster to use Porcelain Booted Bantams, or Porcelain D'uccles to introduce the lavender into Spangled OEGB, so the mottling is seen in the first generation, but feathered Feet, & possibly beards will have to bred out of course.

Not sure what is going on here with one of my golden phoenix roosters. But there seams to be baring of some kind in his saddle feathers. Gene based or just something that was caused by other means?
