The "Ask Anything" to Nicalandia Thread

If you want to keep the partridge genetics, he would be a good one to breed forward. But perhaps you don't have a partridge hen?
He's human aggressive, so not breeding, nor selling him. Been human aggressive since he turned 7 weeks.

I've got two 7 partridge hens, a CrackerFowl hen, a CrackerFowl X Silkie hen, 2 Blue Partridge Silkie hens, one possible Silver Partridge hen, & 2 EE hens.

You have plenty of partridge genetics to carry on without him.

Here is a blue silver partridge pullet that I hatched in 2022. I am planning on breeding the partridge pattern forward. Her pattern is slightly less pronounced than a full sister.
She isn't pure for partridge, but I'm planning to isolate the gene and breed forward with it.

Exactly.

You sure she's partridge, or split for it? Looks like a Blue Silver Wheaten, with partial lacing.
Reminds me of a Brahma hen, I saw recently.

Another one just for reference. She is a full sister to the blue silver pullet. There is potential for there to be wheaten in there yet in this generation, which might be why the feathers on the back look "mealy".View attachment 3369208View attachment 3369209View attachment 3369210View attachment 3369211
She's pretty, though.

My hen's parents were also Wheaten based, but also possibly split for partridge.
She's Buff Orpington/Barred Rock X RIR. She was an oops, when I was working on my first project.
