The "Ask Anything" to Nicalandia Thread

Thanks, I must admit I was not sure if that was the case.

Most EEs that lay colored eggs have pea comb(they have been like that for at least 40 years, now I hear that CL crosses are also being called EEs by some people and by some Hatcheries)

The Welsumer/EE Rooster likely has a pea comb and has 50% chance of passing his Oocyan mutation to his daughters he has at least 10 mutations in heterozygous form for the brown egg shell also.

The BCM/EE hen likely has a pea comb and lays green eggs so she has 50% chance of passing his Oocyan mutation to her daughters she has at least 10 mutations in heterozygous form for the brown egg shell also.

You can expect to get 50% females laying Brown eggs, 50% laying Green colored eggs(Some will be darker than others but will be within the green colored range) no blue eggers from this cross.

I’ve been told the Welsummer/EE has crested cream legbar. I think he’s an olive egger. I don’t think he has any Ameraucana or Aracana stock unless it’s through CCL. Do CCLs have peacombs? My dominant roo is huge - comb & all.

What would happen if I bred a lavender ameraucana rooster to a splash hen? Or what if I bred a cinnamon tuxedo button quail to a wild color button quail?
Self Lavender are Basically all Black birds E/E, Ml/Ml, Pg/Pg, lav/lav, bl+/bl+ with recessive lavender(lav/lav)

Splash are Basically all Black birds E/E, Ml/Ml, Pg/Pg, Lav+/Lav+, Bl/Bl with dominant Splash

Splash(two copies of Blue Bl/Bl)
Blue(one copy of Blue, Bl/bl+)
Black( no copies of blue bl+/bl+)

This means that Lavender x Splash will produce All blue birds with hidden lavender E/E, Lav+/lav, Bl/bl+

I don't breed Quails so I don't manage their information

Oh that is interesting. I guess I will get some blue ameraucanas next year :D

Crested Cream Legbars have Single Comb.
