The "Ask Anything" to Nicalandia Thread

I ordered them from hoover hatchery. They were hatched on Jan 4. Here's picks of them now. Do u think I could have got 1 jerzy on accident I started with 12 and sold the rest. This roo is the only one with yellow feet

Was he an extra chick in the order?

Sometimes hatcheries include an extra chick and it's almost always a male of a random breed.

Hoover isn't known for keeping their breeds up to the standards. No hatchery really does, but Hoover is often considered one of the worst.

Which doesn't mean that they aren't healthy, vigorous birds who will be an excellent fit in a backyard environment. :)

Close ups/Updated pictures of the original Chameleon hen.
She's a Black, White, Brown, & now has a half white, half orange feather.

She was also subjected to my increased nutrition part of the experiment. Just encouraged more change, rather then prevented it. She's still molting alittle bit in her neck, thought she was done.

She's gorgeous!

Any idea why she keeps changing color?
I suspect an odd genetic mutation, but I'm gonna experiment further to confirm my suspicions. She's just about done, finally though, just alittle bit left to go with her neck area.

Sorry to ask, but curious. Can you recap for those who are new to this thread? What kind of hen is she and what experiment did you do on her?

She's a Black EE hen that my Cuckoo EE hen produced me in the year 2020.

I just increased nutrition, as some nutritional deficiency was a theory. So, just did extra supplementing as part of the experiment to rule it out. What happened was the extra nutrition from the supplements I used just helped with the color change rather then prevent it from happening.
