It's never easy having to do this (with any animal). Least it won't have to suffer. You did the right thing....

Hubby is gonna not be happy, because when he gets home from work in a little bit, I'm gonna make him check to ensure it is gone. I can't open that bowl..
I really considered making him do it- waiting till he came home from work. But looking at that little one.. I knew I had to . I'd have been a bad mommy if I let it go on..
 
sorry - how very sad. but you did the right thing. go ahead and cry. i have a little tear or two for you also (sniff sniff)
