You might check with the United Orpington Club for members in California that have Orpington Bantams.
As for Buff. You do not want to cross a Buff with a Black etc. The colors will not come out well. Most of the chicks would be black with some Buff. Sort of like a black sexlink hen.
The lavender gene is not a splash. What you most likely have is a splash that looks similiar to the lavender gene, but it is not lavender. This thread expalins the lavender genes fairly well: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=186133
When you mate a black to a black all you can get is black. There have been a rare white sport, but that is very rare.
