As for the offspring with mamma, start by looking at feet, do they are right right number of toes? What color are the chicks ie: buff,black,blue,ect., their leg color, their soles (orps should have white soles? Those are all good ways to narrow things down.

On another note, thought I would share a picture of my gorgeous pullet. She is from my mille fleur project but happened to turn out mottled oh and did I forget to mention she is buff mottled!!!!

Her mottling is coming in stronger and stronger everyday, can't wait to see her finish out.

Ps- Just hatched out a "fat", I mean fat little blue yesterday, hoping for more of that gorgeous lacing my 5 month old pullet has. Wait it gets better.... my buff's started laying again yesterday too after a 3 month hiatus.

Last Saturday at the Arkansas Backyard Meetup Sale Roy Autry brought my daughter a real lovely splash Orpington Bantam male. She is thrilled with him. So we no longer need a male for our B/B/S Orpington Bantams. Will post photos in a few days.
