The BANTAM ORPINGTON Thread

No, it was a White Rock that won Ch SCCL I thought I had my whites entered, but ended up I forgot them.
Good job!! Is that one of you white's next door?
At the Illinois state fair they have weird classes, so unless your breed/ variety is commonly shown you are put in the AOV class. He won best SCCL Cock above that too.
What does "Best AOV" mean?

The Arkansas State Fair is a fully sanctioned APA-ABA show. Dr. Bramwell runs it strictly by the book.

Our district fair is also a sanctioned show. It would be a better show if those Louisiana folks would stay home. Last two years they came up and won everything!

Our county fair is impossible to change. They have done it this way for 70 years.

We picked up a pair of Blue Orpington bantams not long ago and was wondering what you thought of them. They are the first Orps we have had. Not sure on their age, they still have the occasional pin feather around their head area.

You can say you have a good start. I would try to come up with some nice blacks to help in your blue project. I bred blue orp bantams for several years and I think they are the hardest bantam orp to breed to get right. That lacing is tough to get right. But, it can be done.

We aren't sure of their age. They still have a few pin feathers around the cape and head.
We would have to get a better female since she has a gypsy comb anyway. These are ones we picked up locally that we hope will be better than feed store chicks. Not having to order straight run chicks and dealing with all the extra cockerels is a plus also.
