The BANTAM ORPINGTON Thread

Beautiful! These pint sized Orpingtons are really starting to grow on me.

Your hens seem to have lovely lacing! Do you have any closer pictures of them to see detail?

Where did you get your birds?
I asked Aarron and he said his were originally from Dick Horstman

I have never crossed a bantam to a std. I just raise them together in a brooder for 6 to 8 weeks and split them up.
Don and Roger..Those are some fine bantams.. the quality is so good..I really like everything about them..Smile every time roger puts up a picture..

I didnt know Cecil had Orpington Bantams

I remember a conversation I had with the UOC Secretary. She said Cecil's Bantams were in the hands of his daughter back then. It has been a few years since that conversation. I MAY have misunderstood what she told me. But he did raise bantams too. What varieties I do not know.

I sent Roger a box of chicks last spring, I don't know if those girls are some I sent him. He showed some and I think he's ready to show some more. In that country where he lives you have to have a Old English or you don't have others to show against.

I know Cecil had created Delaware bantams, and had some other breeds but I didnt think he had any Orpingtons.

The only bantams I ever seen at Cecils was Delaware Bantams. He was very proud of them, he had made them. Yes, his daughter has them and the black stds.

I begged him to get them out and show them...Vickie did also...And take that blue too..And I am so glad he did..Res emglish nothing to sneeze about and BB? with the bantam..thats really darned good for a first show...good quality birds ...and a judge who thinks for himself and isnt influenced by political poo made for a great day.. I like a man who can think for himself...Its a long story about APA judges getting calls to DQ any english birds..This judge had a meeting with other APAs that were also getting these calls ..and he said I will not be told what to do! period..., its my job to judge these birds..If the best bird happens to be english..Im putting him excatly where he deserves to be...In rogers case..RES english..hes right, it is his job to judge the birds not play political poo..longer story but I'll stop there. LOVE man who can think for himself .....not led around by a bull ring in his nose..not many like that these dayas

this Judge was hot mad..he said us version of blue orp = all but extinct...the only alternative is imports so either live with it or remove blue from standard..
