Is there any possible way that something jumped the fence for that one? I have had some blacks both in Bantam and Large Fowl that have yellow tips when born but 1 - never that much yellow and 2 - no legs ever that color. One thing about chicks though...no matter what, they are still adorable. Here is an off topic pic I just loaded this morning....

I plan on taking a couple to Crossroads.

The AOPF is working on some very special Orpington awards for Crossroads. Looks like we will have gift certificates for poultry supplies. Gift certificate for hatching eggs etc. We may just have a raffle at our booth for the hatching eggs. Anyone wanting to help with Orpington awards email me off list. Can't wait to see the sales area. They are renting 10'x10' spaces for each vendor of birds. Should be lots of sale birds. Many will be listing ads in Poultry Press to sell before they come. Have already seen birds on featherauction and BYC-BSA to deliver at Crossroads. Entries must be in by October 3. Still undecided how many and what breeds we will bring. Definetly Orps and Orp bantams.

Anyone have bantam buff orps from Cackle? I got some chicks a couple of months ago because I needed a cockerel. Well, the Cubalayas I got in the same order have been living outside for almost three weeks already, and the Orps are STILL not fully feathered, they are still about half fluff. Anyone else run into this?? Thanks!

None of my orpingtons are from Cackle. However, most of my cockerels are slow feathering.

Hang in there.

Thanks. I'm pretty sure I have 2 pairs, two of them are already growing their combs and pinking up. They are all four feathered about the same. I've just NEVER had 8+ week old chicks still have fluff!!
