@onaharley That's similar to what we did for our ducks before we could build their pen outside! We made the cardinal mistake of not having the pen before we got the animal, so when it came time to get them outside we hit a snag. First, my husband got my birthday ducks a month early, and two he ended up having to have emergency surgery. Suffice to say, we didn't get the pen built on schedule. We ended up keeping them in our spare room, using tarps and children's play yards as their temporary housing once they outgrew their brooder. We still use the play yards as duck tractors when we clean their pens and want to let them forage.

@shawluvsbirds I saw that commercial the other day, and my heart melted!

By the way for everyone, my baby girl, Stasya, went into the duck pen with me for the first time on Wednesday. She was scared at first, but then she decided she was okay with the not-cats. (She loves kitties.)

Enterprise was equally as unsure about this all.

It’s nice to be able to house them temporarily while the chaos of life is going on!!

I don’t mind at all! It’ll take me a minute though.

2 Jumbo Pekins(one drake, one hen)
1 Pekin hen
2 Swedish hens(one black, one blue, basically splash)
1 Welsh Harlequin hen
1 Buff hen
1 Saxony hen
1 Silver Appleyard hen
1 White Crested hen
4 runner hens(one chocolate, one black, one blue, and one fawn and white)
2 mallard hens(one crested grey, one snowy)
1 Golden 300 Layer hen
1 White Layer hen
2 Ancona hens
1 Black East Indies drake
4 Call Duck hens(one silver appleyard, two blue fawn, and one mix)
2 mix breed hens(one crested grey mallard x black Swedish and one snowy mallard x black Swedish)
1 Cayuga hen
And three more cross breed eggs due to hatch in two weeks or so.

That's an awesome variety!! :D I'm sure you enjoy just watching them all do ducky things -- I definitely enjoy watching mine on the pond! ^-^

Definitely! I love them way too much not to give them names.

:highfive: Me, too!! :D
