the best chicken food

It's a mixed whole grain food (not ground) so you can sprout it, grow forage with it, and use it like scratch. They do a soy-free version and a corn free-version. I just like that it's not processed.
Are you talking about Scratch and Peck? I haven't heard of it before but it sounds great! I'm going to see if I can find some in my area. So far my chicks are free range, out from sun rise to sun set. They also have fancy scratch and layer pellets mixed. 60% pellets, 40% scratch. They also get scrapes but not as much as I would like. They have just started laying, got m 8th egg yesterday. They are all small with one big one that was double yoked, yokes where small. I love my chickens and want them to be healthy, but do need to be reasonable and can't spend more on food than I do on myself! lol

Sounds like a perfect childhood! lol

It was a pretty great way to spend my formative years: chickens, geese, horses, goats, llamas, sheep, dogs, cats, pet raccoon and possum. And while you may not have always been able to find *your* parents, you could always find at least one adult when you needed one. All the kids certainly came out of it with strong personalities and strong work ethics.

What about feeding them scrambled eggs, with the egg shells crushed up and mixed in? I have heard several people say they love this and that's it's also good for them??
