The best table top incubator? what are they

I use a Genesis 1588 w/turner for my incubator and a LG for my hatcher. The 1588 is practically a no brainer to use. The temp is preset and stays constant - basically all you have to do is add water. I would also never be w/o the second bator for a hatcher - this keeps the incubator clean and all the mess in the hatcher. I use the egg carton method and lay the rubber shelf liner in the bottom of the hatcher to cut down on the clean up.

Personally, for me though, the best incubator(s) are my broody silkies - they take care of the temp, humidity, etc.

Please explain the 2 diffrent modles and why one works better then the other for each use please.

The 1588 has a fan for circulation and the 1602 does not.

If I could pick the one I would buy if I had the money, it would be the Brower Top Hatch Incubator. I Think it would last longer then the styrofoam ones. I have a Little Giant here right now, plus one I built out of a cooler. I just like that you can clean it and not have to worry about the strofoam breaking or melting for some reason.

Would try and find a used GQF Sportman. not a table top, but will last for years and cost about what 2 styroform with one turner cost. Can incubater and hatch in the same unit. Best for your money and a heck of a lot less troubles.

I this one cost double why is it better? does it hold more eggs? or the same as 2 styroform ones?
Styroform doesn't bother me.. however it sould. My last one died becuse someone put a foot through it. (was in my closet in storage, cat had babies in the closet.. in short I stepped on it getting the kittens out of the back corner. Light bulb was out.. I was out of light bulbs)

Thats easy to answer if you don't know what a sportman is, do a search and you will se. They hold like 200 eggs. They are amazing, but I don't even dream that big.

A sportsman sounds economical on purchas price and capacity, however I will never have that many eggs at one time. It may not be economical to run? I have 6 hens now I would save eggs from. My bantums do thier own thing, and my 3 mutt birds are just that.. egg laying broody good mother mutts.
I plan to get 25-50 Blue Orpington eggs in March and I want to hatch some of my Golden Polish. the rest I don't care, they have thier own thing going on.
So 40 at a time would be more then enough at any given time for me. 2 bators would make sence as I can't hold the hatching eggs over for 30 days untill the one bator is empty and I have so few birds right now I need to make them count.
200 eggs..wow.. ya.. no way.

Well the good thing is you can start a new batch on the different levels, at least thats what I understand anyways. So you wouldn't need a bator and hatcher. I am not sure how it works. I wouldn't have the room for the sportman anyways, but would love to have one.

I did a search on the sportsman. Im finding it for about 600.00 2 table tops are about 300 if I get all the bells and whistles. Add onto the eletric that it takes and the fact it won't be full. I think thats out of my leage.
