The Big Incubation - *Pics Added!!!*

Earlyl birds!! Seems like more often than not, I hear that the javas hatch a day early. Not sure why. Love those java chicks! Seems like the never go through a gawky stage. They are just pretty and get prettier and prettier, or else I am just biased. LOL.
Congrats on the hatch so far... crossing fingers that the rest of it is just as good!

HI OnTheSpot
all 5 of the Mottled Java have hatched along with the 1 Ameraucana chick.
pretty active little group for day 20
1 olive is pipped in there too
no pips yet on the orpingtons
The MJs are soo soo pretty. I love their little different colors of deep yellow to light yellow and their petite little heads.
it's a great start to the hatch!

Awesome:jumpy Here we hatched out 1 Standard Gamefowl X Light Brahma, and another has started to pip. Boy do they zip around those eggs quick, it probably took 7 minutes to hatch, and it pipped this morning. Mottled birds are soooo cute when they hatch. Hopefully, you will share some pictures after they aren't so slimmy.

Wonderful. Wow that is fast to hatch, 7 minutes.
Here is a pic of the MJ's still in the hatcher. Taken with a web cam, not my real camera so it's not a great pic. The chainlink look is the 'fence' that goes around each try to keep them from falling.

Subscribing! Can't wait to hear about the rest of the hatch. I just set a dozen eggs under a broody this afternoon, and I'm SO anxious for my 21 days to pass.

Good luck!

Aww. What cuties. Mine keeps falling back inside the egg, poor little guy. I was shocked how fast it got out of that egg, it just smacked its beak around the side and sent peices flying. One determined little peep.

Wow, sounds like a reallyl strong chick!

Any more babies this morning?
I had three more hatch overnight, boy could I here the Brahma cross screaming as it came out. Probably didn't help that the first chick was so excited that another was hatching, that he was trying to surf on top of him. The two that hatched are Brahma crosses, and one has the umbillicord/yolk sack still attached, so not sure if he will live. A white Silkie hatched as well. And there are 6 more pips all Silkies.

We need update pics!!!

for those of you waiting, please hold while your party is being reached. In the meantime, you can drool over this beautiful picture of another big hatch.... included are mottled javas, lavender and black orpingtons, blue olive eggers, blue ameraucanas, mille fleur cochins, copper black marans, dark brahmas, blue silkies, a white showgirl. I think they grew out of their brooder in about 18 hours... LOL
