I was away for a long weekend, so I haven't had chance to do the next chapter. It should be done tomorrow..

CHAPTER 33

The biggest little rooster kept his eye on little WeeMan over the next few days. He saw a little bit of an improvement. Little WeeMan was being much gentler with the girls, but he still was not romancing them. “Oh well” thought the biggest little rooster. “ They can’t all be as handsome and charming as me”.
The days were turning a bit colder. Even though the sun was shining, it did not seem as warming. There were a lot of days of rain and wind. The wind was slightly chilly, but the biggest little rooster liked to watch the wind blow the Ladies butt feathers. It made them look like beautiful little turkeys.
On the days it was not raining, the humanlady would open the gate and let them roam free. The biggest little rooster and his Ladies usually didn’t roam too far. He didn’t want to admit it, but the sun went down early and fast, and he didn’t want to get stuck in the dark too far from home.
On the rainy days, he’d see the humanlady coming with bowl in hand. He knew what that meant! Warm treats! Messy, warm treats. He liked the warn treats because they would all get very messy beaks and faces. He liked to make the ladies laugh with his oatmeal beard and hairstyle. He knew you shouldn’t play with your food, but it was fun. The sound of the ladies laughter was worth hardened oatmeal stuck to his feathers.
One of their days out, the humanlady was making a pop door for the little ones coop. She had thought she shut the gate, but she didn’t. Little WeeMan saw the Ladies, and wanted to get closer. So he pushed the gate open and ran out. As soon as he ran out, he saw the biggest little rooster, and remembered the warning to stay away from the Ladies. He just walked right by them, pretending he had somewhere else to go.
The girls followed little WeeMan out of the pen. While the biggest little rooster kept his eye on little WeeMan, the head of the Ladies looked for the head of the girls. The two top hens started fluffing up their feathers and jumping at each other. There was some biting and kicking going on also. Little WeeMan and the biggest little rooster were just staring at each other. But WeeMan knows his place, and he walked away. The humanlady shooed them all, and the biggest little rooster took his Ladies away from the girls.
It seemed as if the girls were no longer in love with the biggest little rooster. He noticed they did not all run to him. He didn’t mind so much, but his ego was a little bruised. He didn’t understand why they didn’t love him. They didn’t like little WeeMan, so it wasn’t as if he had gotten thrown over for someone else. He thought he might have to spend some time trying to charm them. The Ladies might get upset, though. Now that he was living with the Ladies, he didn’t want to upset them. Some days being a rooster was rough.

What a terrible thing to have ones ego bruised but be able to do anything about it. At least WeeMan Woo is behaving himself better. The Biggest Little Rooster won't have to whop him.
