Button quail eggs are starting to pip!
that sucks I'm sorryLost a polish and spitzhauben hen recently from unknown cause, probably disease, so that really sucks. Also lost an Ameraucana cockerel to wry neck.
Oooh that's really coolGood news is the button quail chicks are about 3 weeks old now and I moved them in with their parents. I also moved the 6 youngest Serama chicks outside, and so far 2 of them have stayed pure white so that's exciting
Could've a new one hatched then got over there and died of the cold cause after 2 months and it being summer wouldn't it have decomposed partiallyThe weirdest thing just happened today. A few hours ago I cleaned out the right side of the brooder where the button quail are. Then I decided to clean out the left side where the serama chicks were since I recently moved them outside. There wasn't much in there, but suddenly out of the back corner I scooped out a dead button quail chick, like a newborn one! The button quail chicks I recently moved out there are about 3 weeks old now and they were never in that brooder anyway. 4 hatched in July and they all died so it had to be one of them. They were in that big brooder at first, but then I moved all 4 of them into a tote. I wasn't around when they died, but my dad said he only saw 3 dead ones in the tote, the 4th was missing. Well we found it, but how did it get in that other brooder? Also a little disturbing that it was just sitting there for like 2 months and no one even noticed....
I don't think so since I've been collecting the eggs and none have gone broodyCould've a new one hatched then got over there and died of the cold cause after 2 months and it being summer wouldn't it have decomposed partially
