THE Brinsea Octagon 20 Eco Thread; Hatches, etc. (PICS)

Oh dear, that was a mistake. I hope you find one. You may want to put an ISO in the buy, sell trade section. Good luck.

Does anyone by chance have a brinsea they would be willing to sell? Took a break from poultry and made the mistake of selling mine

I have seen one or two used Octagons on my local CL in the last year, but the only problem is they usually go for near new prices. Same thing for ebay. If possible, I would recommend buying new just to get the warranty

Someone else may have already mentioned/discussed this but has anyone else had a problem with the fan making a sound like a motor going into overdrive? I'm not sure if that's a good explanation. I just finished my second hatch. I blew it out after the first hatch to get the down out of the fan. This time a few days before the hatch was over I noticed it sounded like the fan was working hard but it stopped acting like that after a few minutes. Now I cleaned it out and vaccummed the fan but it's making that sound again.when I flip it upside down it stops.... Until i mrs turned right side up. Anybody else have this issue?

Have you checked all the screws that hold it in? Maybe you have a loose one, since you say it only does it right side up.

The two times I have noticed the fan making more noise are if there is fluff on the blades, or if the heater is on. You said you blew the fan out, so I'm assuming that's not the issue. I used to think my fan was having problems until I realized that it only made that noise after being turned off for a while, or I took the lid off while it was running. In mine, for whatever reason, when the thermostat turns the heater on, the fan motor sounds like it's working harder, almost like a small vibration. When it gets to the correct temperature, and the heater turns off, the noise stops. You said it stopped after a few minutes, so maybe you are experiencing the same thing
