Look at that face, so full of personality, I just love Pekins they always look so happy.. Well shouldn't be long now before you'll know for sure. Keep us updated..I hope she is too! But now I'm like great the 2 yellow ones are males lol. Ugh hopefully next time they go broody I won't care so much hatching and sexing wise. Too much excitement/questions/lack of patients for this first timer![]()

I think they can go many generations breeding with in the family before you have to worry too much about problems, not sure how long though [give you something to do on line eh?] Like you don't have enough to do already. Once the ducklings sexually mature though usually around 4 months of age then you will see the drakes woong the females and fighting could break out but since yours are still young it most likely won't be a problem till next spring then you may have to do some separating mainly to keep your girls from being over bred by over amorous drakes. I have to separate some of my drakes in mating season with their girls to keep the peace here. It can get pretty hectic. If I do end up with more males at what age should I separate them? I have plenty of room to do so if needed. Do I need to keep the boys separate from their mom/sister(s) or can I just separate the Pekins. The Pekins are happy together no matter what. But I really don't know the rules when it comes to family mating each otheri believe I've either asked this before or someone else has I for some reason don't remember the answer![]()

Don't know if it's right or not, and I haven't checked the facts on this as it wouldn't affect my lot either way, but I keep hearing that you can let the parents mate with the offspring but shouldn't let brother and sister go at it.
It does sound about right from what I remember of genetics at school; but school was an awfully long time ago!
To be fair it's all wrong wrong wrong; just ask my two new girls - they won't let dad near 'em!
I am still talking about the ducks btw![]()
