The Broody Duck Thread for 2014

oh, infection is incredibly taxing on the system! No wonder his eggs didn't do well. I wouldn't worry about it, wait til he's well 100%. Also, antibiotics can affect sperm.
so how long should I wait if my other girl goes broody?

why not buy hatching eggs from a healthier flock? :)
cause I really don't need anymore lol just seems like these girls are hell bent on going broody I'll spend 3 days looking for her nest find it snatch her eggs and spend the next 3 days looking for where she went this time

I wish I had that problem lol
Well you got 1 healthy duckling so all wasn't lost.

or just buy day old ducklings!
I think most of the excitement for the kids was the anticipation of counting down the days and waiting for them to hatch so I would buy eggs before I would buy ducklings. I'm just wondering if I don't find my girls nest and she disappears and goes broody if it's going to be the same as this time. Her last nest I found 50 yards from the house and it's only by the grace of God I found it. I still haven't found the current nest.

Here's where she put the last one it's under a heck of a thorn bush
