The Broody Duck Thread for 2014

Nope, not that I can tell. It has been raining for two days so we haven't stayed out there long enough to notice but when I do look out there she is playing in all the water.

Oh I got pics!!! My other female takes them outside and stuff while the other one stays on the nest

3rd egg has cracks, can hear chirping not much movement tho. Momma not tending to the nest much tho today. It's warm out tho so who knows. Tried getting her back on nest a few times with no luck. Guess just keep my fingers crossed. Poor girl has been broody since first week of September

Wait lol had idea, carefully put egg in front of her in run she wasn't happy she tried taking it so I put it back in nest and she followed. Not sure that was a good idea but either that or she stayed off. Geeeez so happy to have this broody stress gone

Okay well she maybe ready to give up, I borrowed this from goose thread livininbrazil has posted it she had 3 gosling hatch like this with a box warm moist paper towel and desk lamp. just in case.

She has been sitting now. Guess she's got the whole mommy thing going on, you know when you have a bunch of kids running around and you just can't seem to remember what you're suppose to be doing??? Lol

What´s happening now? The egg has cracks in it, but has the duckling actually pipped? Is there a little hole? How long have you heard it cheeping for? Sometimes they can be really behind the others. Of course, in the wild they´d not make it, but seems like the duck is doing her best.
I´ve just hatched out 3 goslings with that lamp, they´ve now gone down with the goose, but the 4th one is still in the house under the lamp...at least a day behind the others.
Is the other duck still looking after the others?

Yes there's cracks and I saw a hole earlier! I have no idea what happens next or if anything has happened. New to this. So far I have just seen cracks in others then.,..POOF a duckling lol!!!! My other female has been taking care of them for her. I just sit back and watch lol
