Checked on momma this evening after work, cannot find the duckling!! Do they hide them?
1 egg was a quitter, and 3 eggs died in the shell, no clue where the other one went.

Not necessarily hid them but could it have gotten down into bedding? If not then something may have gotten it. I'm so sorry about the others. I hope you have found this lil one.

I agree check the bedding. One time my momma covered the baby completely with bedding just leaving the eyes n bill exposed while she left to get food and water. I about didn't even see it until it moved a little

We moved the bales and checked all over. No baby. I guess it's good, I was afraid it would be too cold. We haven't even gotten really cold yet. How do I get the ducks to lay in a specific place when they are free range? I want her to have a safe place for spring.

That's too bad. very sorry, I'd leave some eggs in where you want them to lay and nest. I use fake ceramic eggs with my new layers ducks and chickens and geese too. They like a private spot too so a piece of ply wood secured up against a wall for them to lay under is good.

One of the white ones seems to be raspy plus sorta quacks. Hoping at least one of the white ones is a girl

When do they start laying eggs? I got my 2 girls as adults so not sure. They are still laying. But I get the babies prob won't till spring by when do Ducks start to lay?

Most start around 5 months but you may have to wait till spring because day light plays into it too. They sure are pretty, are going to keep them all?

Pretty sure I am! If my ratio isn't right I have plenty of room to seperate.
