The Buckeye Thread

My birds never leave my property except one time a year and that is when I put them in the fair. I don't buy random birds from any street corner peddler, All my birds are NPIP certified and I only buy eggs and birds from other NPIP certified flocks, and when they are brought on my property I will quarantine them for 30 days to insure they are clean and they will be checked and Treated for lice and mites even if they don't have them.

Oh I know I'm old Joe and will be another year older in 20 days..... But I'm not so old that I  don't remember that you and your group were having problems with Coryza during the summer. Now that is a problem. If a person has Coryza they should not bring a bird off the place until it is gone...and then still wait a few months.

Walt

Happy birthday buddy :) coryza is nothing....one cc of Tylan 50 in the breast and its gone so its hardly a problem. I've never had a bird die...it's nothing more than sinuses for poultry. So comparing a flock that has lost "record numbers" to a flock that lost nothing?!?! Good comparison ;) upper respiratory issues can be fixed, genetic inconsistencies and weaknesses are a whole different ball of wax. Trust me, I hear what's her named crying...she is nothing more than a mouse fart.

Coryza makes carrier birds. It doesn't go away even when the symptoms do so not "nothing".

If you want to go there Walt....come on down to the farm....make sure you wear your alien suit and find a sick bird? Heck....while your here, find a parasite....find a dirty pen.....let's flip this on someone with NO known history of ill fowl rather....good call?!?!

Maybe I'll get an grievance filed against me for caring about poultry, informing others, wanting healthy birds and helping the buckeye gain recognition....all being unbecoming of an APA member?
