Funny!!! Washing chickens.......hahaha......never had to wash a bird in my life before a show. Good stuff....give them the proper pen space or environment and they will do it themselves !!!! Washing a red bird; all the soap and water in the world won't make them look any better than the genes they have in them!!!!!!

Laura feeds purina game bird feed
Im using blue seal home fresh all flock 20percent protein. The breeder i bought my buff brahmas from this weekend uses a 24 percent blue seal feed and calf manna! I think its just a small spoonful per chicken! All show breeders supplement with some kind of fish/meat cat food 3 times a week two weeks before show.

Says who? Do chickens look like cats? Never fed a chicken cat food ever. Why only two weeks before the show? What possible nutritional value could help a bird win two weeks before. If you want to succeed; you better go back to what made the egg! That's we're it starts

over 2700 birds; Champion American and Reserve Champion Large Fowl. Well over 100 birds in the American class. This win should unofficially provide enough points to earn the 1st ever Grand Master exhibitor of the Buckeye Breed; as well as Master Exhibitor in general.

OSUman ;"Ill be waiting to see your name on the Master breeders list... for a long long time I reckon." (Urch thread; page 18, April 2013) Make sure you check and sorry to keep you waiting so long!

Congrats on the win. but should tone it down a bit. no reason to be in a uproar. everyone learns from mistakes over time and if they want to try some things out that they hear from others then great, so be it sooner or later the proof is in the puddin.

I suppose you're right Dave! But my god; they are just chickens and people do more things to these animals than is really necessary! Most of the stuff is more for the people than the actual birds. People take whatever is said and don't even ask "why"? Thats probably why i don't fit in very well over here. who knows?!?! Good luck with your birds Dave!
