I'm enjoying seeing these wonderful young ones from Shumaker Farm, thank you for sharing Joe. What is everyone else up to? Who else has chicks hatching/growing out now and what are you all's Buckeye plans for this year?

And let's see some more of these beautiful birds!

So far, I have some purebred Buckeye eggs arriving in the middle of April, along with some Buckeye/production red crosses that should be very interesting. Plus some day old dark cornish, barred holland, and buff rocks for some project breeding. Glad I waited, we are having a cold spell and it's still winter here- there's snow on the ground this morning.

I have a few, but in the process of switching roosters so I have a lapse in the hatching schedule for them. They are coming along very nice! Holm will get getting some for his first year showing here in Minnesota. I think he is a little excited.
Even though I am not hatching and selling many as chicks, I caved for a couple of people since I got more than enough out of the first male. I do love to see all the people who are interested in them this year! I have had quite a few people contacting me to get started with theirs here in the Midwest and around the country. It is great to see.

It sounds like this year is kicking off on a great note for the breed, with all this hatching going on... 300 chicks? That sounds like a lot of fun (and feed)!

And Holm25, sounds like an exiting year ahead for you? I haven't been keeping track of the thread well, will these be your first Buckeyes?

Theri, it's great to hear there is so much interest in the breed. They are wonderful birds.

Canadianbuckeye, please keep us posted!

Sumi it should be an exciting year. Hopefully they dont cancel shows here. I dont think they will but u never know!
